About Our Class

About Our Class

We are one of two Year 6 classes, taught by Mr Connell and Mrs Wellings.  Our teaching assistants are Mrs Sargant and Mrs Brown and we have had a great 2010 thus far!

Since we have returned from our Christmas holidays we have planned, drafted and written up our own autobiographies - amazing accounts of our incredible young lives, full of humerous stories, such as our first days at school and lots of pictures of us when we were toddlers!

We have also planned, written and designed our very own books - tributes to the legendary author, Mr Roald Dahl who is undoubtedly one of the worlds most loved storyteller.  These books must be seen to be believed, full to the brim of fascinating Dahl facts and stories.  A selection of our literacy work will be displayed on this page very soon so keep your eyes peeled!

This term has been extremely eventful!  On Tuesday 26th January Year 6 watched a very powerful play called 'Wasted', performed by Theatre ADAD.  The play was about the dangers of recreational drugs and some of us actually performed in it as well!  You can see some photographs of the play on Mr Bonner's class page.

Then, if that was not enough on Thursday 28th January some of us in Y6CW took part in the Sportshall Athletics Competition, held at Astor of Hever School.  The team took part in lots of relay races, throwing and jumping events and finished FIRST! Therefore, Allington will represent Maidstone Schools in the Kent School Games later on this year!

Mr Connell was really impressed with the team performance.  A team photograph is on Mr Bonner's page - A big thank you to Mr Bonner for oganising and training the team.

Keep your eyes peeled for many more updates to this site...
